Relationship Advice: Parenting for Bedtime
Relationship advice for parents tends to focus on discipline in the house through a wide variety of situations, but this relationship advice is for something specific: Bedtimes. They can be a real pain when children start hitting the age where they realize they could stay up later. But, in order to stop them from trying to manipulate you into staying up later, follow some healthy relationship advice techniques.
First of all, make sure that you tell them when bedtime is, what you’re going to do, and then make sure that they know you’re not about to walk back into the room for them.
Second bit of relationship advice? Follow through on whatever it is you tell them. If you say that bedtime is at 9pm and that you will only be in there for 5 minutes, then at nine, go in for five minutes and if they don’t come to bed, then you go get ready to go to bed yourself and they’ll have to learn the hard way. Take that relationship advice to the bank.
